To create architecturally beautiful, deeply sustainable homes for individuals earning ±R7,000/month—enabling a lifestyle of dignity, community, and ecological alignment.
Phase 1 Goals
- Construct 3 model homes using:
- Compressed Earth Blocks (CEB)
- Timber + Hempcrete
- Container Hybrid
- Keep cost per home below R160,000
- Integrate shared solar, greywater systems, and food gardens
- Involve community members in design and build for skills upliftment
- Attract ethical investors, donors, and development partners for scale

CEB Home Concept
Size: ~48m² Layout:
- 2 compact bedrooms (~8m² each)
- Open-plan living/kitchen (~18m²)
- Bathroom with compost toilet + solar shower (~5m²)
- Covered verandah with cob seating (~7m²)

- CEB walls using local soil
- Timber trusses + lightweight roofing
- Lime plaster + artistic wall inlays
- Solar kit for lighting and appliances
- Rainwater tank + greywater reuse
- Bio-toilet system
- Cape Dutch roofline with Soulcare’s signature curves
